
Have you noticed your phone ringing less from those annoying robocalls?
According to YouMail’s Robocallindex.com data survey, the number of robocalls across the country has dropped during the COVID-19 pandemic. Globally, the coronavirus crisis has closed many businesses including call centers.
The data survey tracked the volume of spam calls and robocalls in each city and state in the U.S.
In New Orleans, the data shows for the past three months, the number of invasive robocalls has been on a steady downward slope.
Data for last April showed there were 25.2 million calls placed to phone numbers in the New Orleans area. That number is down from 36.6 million calls made back in March.
Robocalls made to phone numbers in New Orleans began declining sometime in February were it hit a peak of 42.3 million calls made.
The survey also finds about 38% of calls made to the 504 area code were Scam calls.
Telemarketer calls made up about 16% while 30% were Emergency Alerts and Reminders.
