Bobby Hebert knows a thing or two about Cajun lifestyle, and also LSU football coach Ed Orgeron.
He also knows the Tigers coach won't be overreacting to questions about his job status. It's any upcoming opponents -- both on the field and otherwise -- that should be on the alert.
"Let me tell you about Coach O right now, he's like a wounded animal, he's in the corner. Do you want to attack that wounded animal?" Hebert said while speaking with LSU's head coach on SportsTalk this week. "I'm telling you, you'd better watch out what you wish for."
The Tigers coach got a chuckle and largely agreed with Hebert's assessment. Listen to Orgeron's full interview in the player above.
"No question. ... I love where I’m at. I love the fight. I love the challenge. That’s why you’re in it," Orgeron said. "It’s not always gonna be roses, not always going to be peaches and cream. You’ve got to fight. This is football. Hey, you’re going to have success, you’re going to have adversity in your career. You’ve got to learn how to fight. There’s life lessons that’s gonna be learned. I told the team ‘we’re going to be the team that ended up fighting.' ”
But there's no question that the challenges he faces as he leads his LSU squad into the meat of its Southeastern Conference schedule, beginning with No. 17 Florida this week. Matchups with Ole Miss, Alabama, Arkansas and Texas A&M also loom in the latter half of the season.
“The past is the past," Orgeron continued. "let’s get better. Let’s beat Florida."

ON MOVING FORWARD FROM BACK-TO-BACK SEC LOSSES
“We put our loss behind. We have a 24-hour rule. We got after it. Our kids understand this is a rivalry game. … Nobody’s satisfied. Everybody’s pissed off about the way we played and the things that we did. We’ve got to play better, represent LSU better.
“We definitely have to play better, especially against the run. Florida’s coming here, the third-ranked rushing team in the country, and we just gave up 330 yards rushing. So, yea, we’ve got to get better, there is some concern."

ON PLAYERS STEPPING UP IN BOUTTE'S ABSENCE
“[Malik Nabers] had the best camp [of all the freshman WRs]. All those guys had some great camps, but I’m telling you what now, he got hurt … in a 7-on-7 diving for the football, and I was disappointed. I thought he was going to have a breakout year, early. I think Malik is going to have an outstanding finish to the year.
"Koy Moore is gonna get more shots. Devonta Lee is gonna get more shots. Jaray Jenkins, Tre Palmer, Jontre Kirklin. Jack Bech … he’s all over the field. We’ve got enough weapons at wide receiver, obviously we’re going to miss Kayshon, but we have enough weapons.”

MYLES BRENNAN LATEST
“I see Myles every day. … He’s got a ways to go. When the injury happened I was optimistic [for the] open date, I don’t think that’s gonna happen.
Would there be a QB competition when he's healthy?
“We’ve gotta see. We’ve got to see if he can play first, if he can take a hit and all that stuff. All that stuff we’ve got to play by ear.”

ON CHALLENGING SCHEDULE UPCOMING
“I love it. I love playing in the SEC. I love the big games. I love it. That’s why I wanted to come here, you know? And hopefully we get to where they have to play LSU, they look at us and say they’ve got to play LSU, too. And obviously we’re not there right now, but hopefully we get to that point.”
