It's take-care-of-business week for LSU football, but will things actually go as planned in this highly unpredictable 2021 season?
Only time will tell. But it will be Max Johnson back at the controls for the Tigers when they host the Warhawks, back after freshman Garrett Nussmeier got his shot at the starting job. He'll redshirt the rest of the way.
This week it's LSU heading into a game as four-touchdown favorites. They've taken care of business (mostly) in non-SEC matchups this season. But there's more weight this time around, with the Tigers needing wins in both of their remaining games to become bowl-eligible.

WELP...
You might ask, why is LSU running a fake punt in this game at all? You'd be asking a good question, because we don't have the answer. Whatever the reason, the pass was intercepted, setting up a Warhawks touchdown before halftime. But at least we all got to say "Boogie Night" out loud.
━━━━
MALIK NABERS ... IS A BLUR
LSU football has a lot of problems, but they'll always have freshman phenom WRs. In this one it was Malik Nabers. After this 67-yard TD grab, the young WR had already rolled up 143 yards on just four catches.
━━━━
PICK-6! Well, almost
Jay Ward is a ball-hawk, and he struck early in the second quarter for LSU with an interception of UL-Monroe QB Rhett Rodriguez. It initially looked like a pick-6, but was overturned on review with Ward stepping out of bounds on the return. LSU drove deep into Warhawks territory before settling for a field goal and a 10-0 lead.
━━━━
BEND (A LOT) BUT DON'T BREAK
The Tigers defense got burned a bit on UL-Monroe's second drive, but they stood up in the final inches, forcing a turnover on downs at the 1-yard line.

LEFTY USES HIS LEGS
LSU football got a stop, then didn't waste any time getting on the board. QB Max Johnson led LSU 64 yards in 5 plays, finished it off with his legs and his first rushing TD of the season.
