Bryan Bresee always knew the Saints were interested, that didn't stop the stress from building as he sat and waited while 28 names were read by Roger Goodell at the NFL draft.

The Saints had worked out the DT in the offseason and even taken himself and a group out to Palmetto Smokehouse in Clemson. There was familiarity. And when the Saints went on the clock at 29, it was a clear match.

“We were super excited," Bresee said to Bobby Hebert, Mike Detillier, Deuce McAllister and Mike Hoss on WWL's Draft Fest.

"It’s been a lifelong dream of mine to play in the NFL and for it to be with such a storied organization like the Saints was super special for me and my family," he continued.

Rounds 2 and 3 of the NFL Draft will take place Friday, with the Saints currently holding the No. 40 and 71 selections.

MORE FROM BRYAN BRESEE

What are your strengths as a player?

“I think my strength is just being disruptive, athletic, a big interior pass rusher, someone’s who’s able to shoot gaps and just wreak havoc in there. Obviously always things to work on in technique, whether it’s hand placement, footwork. Just things that always need to be worked on and cleaned up that I’ll continue to work on.”

━━
Where did you line up at Clemson?

“Through my time at Clemson I was able to play up and down the line … so I think just them seeing me play up and down the line was something that may have just helped them understand that I was versatile.”

━━
On being picked back-to-back with teammate Myles Murphy

“It was extremely exciting. Me and Myles came into Clemson together, so just to watch him live out his dream and me do the same, and us do it so close to each other was pretty cool.”

━━
Who do you model your game after?

The big DT named JJ Watt, Cam Jordan and Chris Jones, pretty lofty company.

“A bunch of guys relative to my size who are really disruptive and move well and are able to pass rush, guys that I can take little pieces from and try to incorporate it into my game.”
