A trend that never seems to fail: Demario Davis gets snubbed from the Pro Bowl, then lands on an All-Pro team.
This year he landed on the second team for linebackers after appearing in all 17 games while racking up 121 total tackles, 6.5 sacks, 11 QB hits, 4 passes defensed and 1 forced fumble. The selection was Davis' 5th to an All Pro team, joining Morten Andersen, Drew Brees, Jahri Evans, Rickey Jackson and Willie Roaf on that list for the Saints.
It was also yet another accolade for Rashid Shaheed, who was named first team All Pro as a punt returner, along with his first selection to the Pro Bowl and the only member of the Saints' roster to be picked for the annual showcase.
The New Orleans Saints finished 9-8 and missed the postseason, but it was a career year for Shaheed in many respects, including his first ever return for a touchdown in Week 3 against the Packers, along with 46 catches for 719 yards and five touchdowns, all career highs.
