Saints-Patriots big-play blog: Keep up with the top moments from Week 3

Can the Saints bounce back in Week 3 against the Patriots?

If history tells us anything, that's a pretty good bet. And as Alvin Kamara said this week: "Poke the bear ... get bit back."

Check out a live score graphic below, and big plays from the game will be updated in the feed.

HIGHLIGHTS

I'LL TAKE THAT

The Saints didn't get the ball after halftime, yet they still managed to score in just 9 seconds. How? Jonnu Smith mishandled a catch despite having no defensive pressure around him, and Malcolm Jenkins was happy to take it off his hands and sprint for an easy score to extend the lead to 21-3.

SAVE THAT BALL, MARQUEZ

Yea, it was a "dangerous" throw, except it wasn't. There was a flag on the field, so Jameis Winston had a free play when he lobbed it up to Marquez Callaway in the back of the end zone. Either way, it was a pretty highlight for the kid's first career receiving TD and pinned the Saints to a two-score lead late in the first half.

PJ'S BIG PLAY

It wasn't a touchdown despite the initial reaction, but a great rush turns into a huge PJ Williams return to set up the Saints in the red zone shortly before halftime.

━━━━
ROUGH DAY FOR ROSAS

Saints kicker Wil Lutz is eligible to return from IR in Week 4, and the Saints will be glad to see him back. Kicker Aldrick Rosas missed two kicks in the first half, one from 52 and another inside 40 to erase a chance for the Saints to extend the lead.

WATCH OUT FOR DOWELL

Andrew Dowell spent all training camp making play after play ... so it should be no surprise he's making his presence felt on the special teams group that has now blocked two punts in as many weeks. He gets to Jake Bailey for the first blocked punt of his NFL career and sets the Saints up in plus territory.

END Q1: Saints 7, Patriots 0

LOCKING IT DOWN

The Saints defense came to play as it got back several key pieces, limited rookie QB Mac Jones and allowing just one first down in the opening quarter.

KAMARA FEASTING

The Saints' star running back was limited to just 30 total yards in Week 2, but he came into Week 3 as hungry as ever. He rolled up 30 rushing yards and 20 receiving yards in the opening frame, including an easy touchdown on an angle route in the red zone for the Jameis Winston's first passing score since Week 1.
