A look inside Saints coach Sean Payton's wedding, complete with a mariachi band

Sean Payton has a big task on his plate when the next Saints season rolls around, but he had a little something to take care of in Mexico first.

That, of course, was his long-awaited wedding to Skylene Montgomery. The longtime coach notably proposed to his former fiancee in 2019 during an even at Longway Tavern in the French Quarter.

The couple had initially planned their wedding for March, but the coronavirus pandemic altered plans, according to a report from The Advocate.

The wedding, held Friday in Cabo San Lucas, featured a mariachi band, New Orleans native and former NBA player/coach Avery Johnson as the officiant, and a slick pair of Jordan 1s rocked by the Saints coach.

Payton even offered to share his band with Saints running back Alvin Kamara to help celebrate his new gig with NASCAR.

The wedding also included a cake featuring a black Cadillac, a Johnny Cash guitar and song lyrics, according to a report from The Advocate.
