Police in Kenner are investigating a drowning in a drainage canal off I-10.
Around 6 a.m. Friday, police were called with a report of a male subject jumping into the canal near the 3000 block of Phoenix Street.
Police arrived and began searching the area but could not locate the subject. Kenner Fire Department was called in to expand the search.
Around 2:45 p.m., the subject's body was found in a submerged culvert in the canal.
Kenner Police does not suspect foul play at this time, but anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Criminal Investigations Division at (504) 712-2415.
