That is a jump of 3,089 new COVID-19 cases across the state since yesterday’s case spike of 9,378.

LDH reports 762 people are in the hospital, which is another triple-digit increase of 103 from yesterday’s 659 hospitalized COVID patients.

Deaths fortunately have declined slightly, with the LDH reporting only two deaths today, down from six deaths on Wednesday.

This marks the second day in a row COVID case numbers shown significant increases since surging over the Holidays.
