Once news spread that the Supreme Court of the United States’ final decision overturned Roe v. Wade, abortion clinics in Louisiana closed their doors.
The only abortion clinic in New Orleans was no exception. Soon after the news broke, the clinic closed its doors and sent workers home.
"It was a very heartbreaking thing for everyone," Shemka Brown, the clinic's administrator told The Times-Picayune. "But we’ve been preparing ourselves for this moment."
The future of the clinic is unclear now that Louisiana’s “trigger law” is in effect following the Supreme Court’s decision.
