Death of 1-year-old boy found unconscious at Brooklyn home ruled homicide

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – The NYPD said Friday that a toddler who was found lifeless at his Brooklyn home last weekend was killed.

The medical examiner declared the death of Kadein O'Neill a homicide after the boy was found unconscious at his Gravesend Houses apartment on W. 33rd Street in Coney Island on Saturday afternoon, police said.


EMS rushed the boy to Coney Island Hospital after he was found, but he did not survive.

According to the Daily News, the boy died of internal injuries and had no outward signs of trauma. He would have turned 2 years old on Monday.

His mother, who reportedly called 911, was questioned and released.

No arrests have been made, police said.
