NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Ten people were shot in New York City on Wednesday into Thursday morning, one of whom died, police said.
Five shooting incidents took place throughout the day on Wednesday, with a total of seven people shot, the NYPD said Thursday morning.
In one of the incidents, which happened in the vicinity of Avenue D and New York Avenue in East Flatbush around 1 a.m. Wednesday, a 41-year-old man was shot in the arm and neck, a 35-year-old man was shot in the stomach and a 32-year-old man was shot in the neck, according to police.
The 41-year-old man was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital, police said. The 35-year-old man and the 32-year-old man were both expected to survive.
Thursday's first shooting happened around 12:40 a.m., when a man shot his ex-girlfriend in the face during a fight in the Fordham Heights neighborhood of the Bronx, the NYPD said.
The woman was taken to a nearby hospital and was expected to survive, police said. Her ex-boyfriend hadn't been arrested as of late Thursday morning.
Less than three hours later, around 3:15 a.m., a 20-year-old man was walking near Atlantic and Pennsylvania avenues in Cypress Hills, Brooklyn when he was shot in the torso, the hip and the right arm, police said.
He was taken to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center and was expected to survive, the NYPD said.
Around 3:45 a.m. on Thursday, meanwhile, a 23-year-old woman walked into Lincoln Medical Center in the Bronx with a gunshot wound to the back of her neck, the NYPD said.
The woman told police she had been driving on the Major Deegan Expressway, near West 233rd Street, when she heard shots and felt pain. Police said she was expected to survive.
Investigations into all of the shootings are ongoing, police said.
