NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The countdown to Sunday's 71st Emmy Awards is on!
First, let's talk hosts --- well there isn't one.
The Emmys, taking place at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, are taking a cue from this year's Oscars and opting for a host-free show. This will be the fourth time there hasn't been a host at the Emmys. The last time was 2003.
Why no host? Fox president Charlie Collier said "if you have a host and an opening number, that’s 15-20 minutes you can’t use to salute the shows … we will go hostless this year, and I think it will give us more time to honor those shows."
While there will be no host, there will be plenty of presenters.
Most of the “Game of Thrones” stars who’ve been nominated for their work in the show’s final season will reunite to present. That’s 10 cast members, including Emilia Clarke, Kit Harington and Peter Dinklage. Other presenters include Angela Bassett, Viola Davis, Michael Douglas, Naomi Watts and Taraji P. Henson. And of course, no awards show this year would be complete without “Pose” star Billy Porter.
