NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A Queens man was charged with murder Monday after his ex-girlfriend was reportedly found dead in a shallow grave in the Rockaways.
Rogelio Lozano-Garita, 26, also faces charges of criminal possession of a weapon, concealment of a human corpse, and tampering with physical evidence following his arrest on Monday.
Investigators believe he killed Seraphina Pereira, 35, who was also from the Rockaways.
She reportedly went missing last week before her body was found Saturday night buried at Rockaway Community Park, near Beach 58th Street and Almeda Avenue, in Edgemere. The medical examiner determined she’d been shot in the head.
Neighbors told 1010 WINS that the suspect is the victim’s on-and-off boyfriend.
