NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police released footage on Monday of a man they are searching for in connection with the mugging of a 12-year-old boy in Brooklyn.
Officials say on Jan. 25, at approximately 6 p.m., the boy was walking behind a building on Coyle Streeta in the Sheephead bay neighborhood when the suspect ran up to the boy from behind, took his cell phone and forced him to unlock it with his pin.
The suspect fled the scene on foot southbound on Coyle Street, police say.Authorities described the suspect as a dark-skinned male, in his 20s who is approximately 5'6" and 150lbs.
He was last seen wearing a multi-colored hooded jacket, with gray sweatpants, and black and white sneakers.Officials urge anyone with information to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-8477.
