13-year-old girl stabbed after dispute in Bronx escalates, man sought by police

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police released photos Sunday of a man wanted in connection to the stabbing of a 13-year-old girl in the Bronx.

At approximately 5 p.m., on  Jan. 31, officials say a 13-year old girl was with a group of her friends when they got into a verbal dispute with an unknown man in front of 2628 Third Avenue.


The dispute escalated into a physical confrontation, and the 13-year-old girl and her friends began to attack the man, punching him in the head and torso, authorities say.

That when police say the suspect displayed a knife and stabbed the 13-year old girl in the neck and torso several times.

The teen suffered bleeding and puncture wounds and was transported to Harlem Hospital in serious but stable condition.

The suspect fled on a scooter to parts unknown, police say.

Police seek a man described as a male Hispanic, 20-30 years of age, last seen wearing a red cap and all dark clothing.Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-8477.
