NEW YORK (1010 WINS) —Two men, part of a group of setting off fireworks, were shot by Jersey City police Monday night.
Police confirmed officers discharged their weapons.
The shooting happened on Randolph Avenue between McDougall Street and Branhall Avenue at around 10:15 p.m.
One of the victims, 21-year-old Devonte Moore, was shot three times in his leg and his knee, his mother, Katrina Moore, told PIX 11.
The other, a 19-year-old, was hit in the leg.
The victims were taken to Jersey City Medical Center.
The 19-year-old was released while Moore is undergoing surgery.
Investigations are ongoing.
