NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police are investigating after two men were slashed -- one across his neck the other on his arm -- in Manhattan on Saturday night.
A 55-year-old man was slashed as he entered the Franklin Street 1 train station in Tribeca just before 9 p.m.
Police say a man flashed a knife at him and demanded money. The victim handed over two cell phones and $7, but police say the assailant followed him and slashed him across the neck.
The victim was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive.
Less than two hours later, around 10:30 p.m., a man was slashed on a street at Columbus Circle.
The attacker got away. The victim, who is recovering, described the slasher as a man wearing shorts and carrying a knife.
Police have not yet released surveillance images of any suspects.
The NYPD says the two slashings are not related.
