NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for two women in connection to a theft that occurred inside a luxury department store on the Upper East Side.
On Nov. 18, at approximately 11:00 a.m., police say one suspect hid a hat inside of a bag and walked out of the Barneys New York store located at 660 Madison Avenue without paying for it.
When two male employees confronted the individual about the theft, she refused to return the item and fought with them. The second woman also fought with the employees.
During the incident, both women punched, bit and scratched the employees.
The women fled on Madison Avenue, one northbound and the other southbound.Police describe the first woman as a black female, with green hair. She was last seen wearing a light colored hooded sweater and a black hooded winter coat.
The second woman is a black female according to police. She was last seen wearing a black hat, a yellow coat, black pants and light colored boots.Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-8477.
