NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 33-year-old woman was fatally struck by a car that left the scene on FDR in East Harlem at approximately 5:30 a.m. on Thursday.
The victim was struck near E. 116th St. and died at the scene from a head injury, police said.Officials say a short time later, a female in her 20s, went to an NYPD Housing Bureau police station about two miles away and said she thought she hit someone.
Her Nissan Sedan had dents consistent with hitting someone, police say.
No charges were immediately filed.
