NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A pedestrian was fatally struck by an MTA bus in Queens Sunday night, according to officials.
EMS transported the victim to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad determined that a Q55 MTA Bus, operated by a 32-year-old man, was traveling west bound on Myrtle Ave when the pedestrian jumped in front of the bus as it was moving through the intersection, causing the bus to strike the pedestrian.
He came to a rest within the east bound traffic lane, officials say.
The bus operator remained on scene.
Police have no released the victim's name.
No arrests have been made so far and the investigation remains ongoing.
