NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Four dogs died after a fire broke out Friday in the tallest building in upper Manhattan.
The fire erupted on the 19th floor of the 32-floor building on Audubon Avenue in Washington Heights around 4:30 p.m., according to ABC7.
Citizen App video shows large flames and thick, black smoke pouring from a balcony.
Five dogs lived in the burning unit and four of them died in the fire, the FDNY said.
A number of daycares are in the building, and ABC7 reported that a woman could be seen holding a baby on an adjacent balcony.
