FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (1010 WINS) – A New Jersey girl who saved her mother's life by calling 911 is getting some special recognition from police in her hometown.

Back on Dec. 6, the local 911 call center got a call from a young girl in Franklin Township saying her mom had fallen down and wasn't moving.

It was 4-year-old Isla Glaser, who was able to provide all the information the dispatchers needed to send an ambulance to her house. (Hear her call with dispatchers.)

The door was locked when officers got to the home, but little Isla continued to follow their directions and moved a chair over to the door so she could unlock it.

Her mom, Haley Glaser, had fallen and was found lying unconscious on the floor. She's expected to make a full recovery.

Isla even helped take care of her three younger siblings during the ordeal, promising them their mom was going to be OK.

Isla is being called a hero, and on Wednesday police recognized her for her efforts.

"If not for the swift and sure actions of Isla, this could have had a very different outcome," Franklin Township police said in a press release.
