Man shot near Brooklyn peace march among 9 killed in over 12 NYC shootings over the weekend

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A 23-year-old man killed blocks away from an anti-gun violence march in Brooklyn on Saturday was one of nine people killed in 53 shootings across the city since Monday.

The nine homicides were among the 67 people shot in the city from Monday morning to Saturday night, according to NYPD data

Nicholas Isaac, 23, was shot and killed blocks away from the Cease Fire Peace Walk in Bedford-Stuyvesant, where Mayor Bill de Blasio spoke to a crowd Saturday.

Police released surveillance images Sunday of the man they said took off on a scooter after shooting Isaac multiple times in front of 662 Nostrand Ave. around 4 p.m.

Isaac was taken to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

On Sunday, community advocates joined motorcycle clubs at the Barclays Center for a ride through hard-hit areas of Brooklyn.

Bishop David Maldonado, of Advocates Without Borders, said bikers wanted to take action against gun violence in the city.

"Each one who lives in each community is going to 'each one, teach one,' and we're going to try to put a dent in this violence," Maldonado said.

Over 100 bikers rode in response to the recent spike in shootings.
