NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The bill to reauthorize the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund will be named in honor of first responders Luis Alvarez and Ray Pfeiffer.
Alvarez died just a couple of weeks ago after fighting for reauthorization.
His NYPD badge was given to a Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who has committed to giving the bill a vote in the senate next month, practically guaranteeing reauthorization.
Ray Pfeiffer died a couple of years ago.
He spent eight months digging through the debris at Ground Zero and then spent eight years fighting cancer.
