Alternate Side Parking suspended next week, resumes on a regular basis Aug. 3

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Alternate Side Parking will be suspended next week through Sunday, Aug. 2, but will resume on a regular basis after that, Mayor Bill de Blasio said Friday.

Alternate Side Parking regulations will resume Monday, Aug. 3 through Saturday, Sept. 5—the Saturday before Labor Day.

"Starting Monday, Aug. 3, we're going to resume Alternate Side Parking on an ongoing basis," de Blasio said. "We're going to take another step towards something more normal, go back to having Alternate Side Parking on a regular basis."

The mayor said that while Alternate Side Parking will be "back the way it was" for the month of August into early September, there is one important change: drivers will only have to move their car once a week during that period.

"If you're on one of those streets that has multiple times a week that you have to move your car on your side of the street … you only do that one time a week going forward," de Blasio said. "It will be on the last day noted on your side of the street."
