Ambulances collide, one flips over, in the Bronx; 4 EMTs injured

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Two ambulances crashed into one another in the Bronx on Saturday, causing one of the ambulances to overturn and leading to multiple injuries.

The two ambulances collided near Brook Avenue and East 142nd Street in Mott Haven just after 4 p.m., according to police.

Two of the EMS workers were trapped in the overturned ambulance.

The FDNY said four emergency workers were injured and that none of the injuries were life-threatening. They were taken to Lincoln Hospital.

Dozens of police and firefighters are seen around the heavily damaged ambulances in Citizen App video.

Surveillance video of the crash (above) shows the two ambulances slamming into one another in a violent collision at the intersection.

The accident snarled traffic from the Bronx to Manhattan's East Side.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. The ambulances were responding to an emergency call.
