NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Anthony Weiner has left the halfway house in the Bronx and is traveling to Brooklyn where he will sign some papers and be officially released.
He's been at the halfway house since February, finishing out his sentence.
Weiner was sentenced to prison for 21 months back in 21 months. He cried in the courtroom and called himself, 'a very sick man.'
The 21 month sentence wound up being 18, including three that he spent in the halfway house.
"It's good to be out, I hope to get back to my family and make up for some lost time," he said. "I feel like I am glad to be getting back to my family. I hope to live a life of integrity and service and I'm glad this chapter in my life is behind me."
Weiner was to go to the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn to be registered as a low level sex offender. Weiner will be supervised regularly over the next three years.
