At least 14 people shot Monday into Tuesday morning across NYC as gun violence continues

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police report at least 14 people were shot across New York City on Monday into early Tuesday as the surge in gun violence continues.

Around 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday, officials said a 21-year-old man was struck in the chin and arm at Ninth Avenue and West 39th Street in Hell's Kitchen.


The victim was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue with non-life-threatening injuries.

He told officials he heard shots and felt pain.

Earlier, a 33-year-old man and 29-year-old woman were shot Monday at a candlelight vigil for a family member in the Bronx.

The victims were taken to Jacobi Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Just after 9 p.m., police said a 30-year-old man was shot in the arm and a 25-year-old woman were wounded in Harlem.

Both victims said they were walking on Fifth Avenue and West 132nd Street when they heard shots and felt pain.

The man was shot in the leg and the woman in the arm.

They were taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem by private means.

Around 8:10 p.m., a 38-year-old man was shot in the arm and a 22-year-old man was shot in the leg inside St. Mary's Park in the South Bronx.

Police are investigating what led to the shooting.
