BBC radio host fired over racist royal baby tweet

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A longtime BBC radio host has been fired following a racist tweet about the royal baby.

Danny Baker tweeted a picture of a couple with a chimpanzee.Baker denied it was meant to be racist but later called it "an enormous mistake."

He also ranted on twitter about being fired.

"This was a serious error of judgment and goes against the values we as a station aim to embody. Danny’s a brilliant broadcaster but will no longer be presenting a weekly show with us," said a BBC spokesman.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced the birth on Monday. The royal couple said their son, seventh in line to the British throne, is named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
