NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Two men were wounded, one of them critically, when they were shot by a bicycling gunman near Central Park Saturday night, police say.
Two men were sitting on a park bench along Central Park North around 10 p.m. when a man on a bicycle rode by and shot them both, according to police.
The two men, said to be in their 40s, were taken to St. Luke's Hospital. One of them was in critical condition. The other was in stable condition.
Malcom lives across the street from where the ride-by shooting took place—on Central Park North between Lenox and Fifth avenues. He says he heard the gunfire around that time.
"I heard some shots. I heard I think it was two shots. And a matter of fact the guy who got shot, his wife's birthday was yesterday," Malcolm said.
Police say they're looking to identify the man who fled the scene on a bike.
