NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Signs on the big black doors at 777 Washington Street in the West Village say, "No Parking," and "Active Driveway," but the driveway is not approved by the city.
The man who lives in that building is Noam Gottesman, a hedge fund billionaire.
He had the curb cut made so he could turn a street parking space into a driveway.
Neighbors are not happy.
The city says Gottesman didn't have permission to create the driveway.
"The plans for the ... project do not show any curb cuts and the owner did not apply for an accessory-use curb cut during this process, as required. In addition, the building's current certificate of occupancy does not reflect a legal curb cut," Joe Soldevere, a spokesman for the Department of Buildings, told the Daily News.
A lawyer for Gottesman says the opposite.
The Department of Buildings is investigating.
