NEW CANAAN, Conn. (1010 WINS) -- Disturbing new details emerged in the case of missing Connecticut mother of five Jennifer Dulos on Monday as her estranged husband and his girlfriend appeared in court after their arrests over the weekend.

Fotis Dulos, 51, and Michelle Tronconis, 44, didn't say anything as they faced a judge at Norwalk Superior Court to be arraigned on charges of tampering with evidence and hindering prosecution.

Prosecutors said Monday that more serious charges are expected, but for now the two are each expected to post their $500,000 bond.

The two were arrested in Avon on Saturday night after lab results came back confirming that Jennifer Dulos' DNA was found in trash bags dumped in Hartford, court documents say.

The documents allege Dulos and Tronconis hadn't been cooperating with investigators, but police got warrants for their phones and discovered they had been in Hartford on the day that the 50-year-old mother disappeared.

Surveillance video obtained by police shows Dulos and Tronconis placing the trash bags at receptacles in the city, according to the documents, which reveal that the bags contained clothing and cleaning items stained with Jennifer Dulos' blood.

Detectives continue to search for Jennifer Dulos, who went missing on May 24 after dropping her kids off at school.

"Connecticut law enforcement agencies worked around the clock to locate Jennifer by exploring all leads and tips," police said in a release Sunday.

Traces of blood were discovered in Dulos' home and her SUV was abandoned in a park in New Canaan.

Jennifer and Fotis Dulos have been embroiled in a contentious divorce and child custody case for the past two years.

Before she went missing, Dulos had told a judge she was afraid her husband would try to kidnap their children or kill her, according to the Hartford Courant.

At a vigil at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in New Canaan on Sunday evening, Rev. Peter Walsh asked God to send angles to watch over Dulos' children.

Speaking for the Dulos family, Carrie Luft told ABC 7: "The children are safe and they miss their mother terribly. They're doing well under the circumstances."
