NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Two 13-year-old boys have been arrested and charged with assault for allegedly slapping an 89-year-old woman in the face and setting her shirt on fire in Brooklyn in July, the NYPD said.
One of the boys was arrested on Friday, and the second boy was arrested on Tuesday, police said. Both have been charged with third-degree assault, the NYPD said.
Police said the 89-year-old woman was near 77th Street and 16th Avenue in Bensonhurst around 6:45 p.m. on July 14 when one of the boys approached her and slapped her in the face.
When the woman tried to get away from the boys, they lit her shirt on fire with a match or a lighter, the NYPD said. The woman wasn't seriously injured, police said.
