NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A serial burglar has made off with more than $260,000 in jewels, electronics and other valuables in a nearly two-month long spree in Brooklyn.
Police released surveillance images of the suspect on Saturday.
The NYPD says he’s been robbing apartments in the Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights area since at least July 10.
One burglary alone on Aug. 28 netted the thief $75,000, according to police, who said he gained entry through a rear window by using a ladder as the residents inside slept.
He’s also pushed in air conditioners, slipped in through unlocked fire escape windows and even forced his way through a front door, police said.
The most recent burglary was last Sunday near Ovington and Third avenues in Bay Ridge.
Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
