NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD announced on Sunday it is seeking at least three suspects who stole approximately $8,000 worth of electronics from a Bronx church last week.
A group of burglars entered the Creston Avenue Baptist Church, a century-old church in the Bronx at 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, with one suspect defecating in the church's foyer before fleeing, according to CBS New York.
The group broke through the lock on the back door to gain access the church grounds, officials said.
The church has raised almost $12,000 on their GoFundMe page, set up by the church's treasurer Emeka Oseafiana.
"Recently due to COVID, Creston has started to live stream its Sunday service via Facebook in order to stay in touch with its members and the community," she said. "Creston was looking forward to reopening its doors the first Sunday in August but due to this unfortunate event, this may not be possible," Oseafiana wrote in the fundraiser.
