WATCH: Chris Rock, Rosie Perez join Cuomo in statewide PSA to wear masks, get tested

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Actors Rosie Perez and Chris Rock joined Gov. Andrew Cuomo in Brooklyn on Thursday to help educate New Yorkers about coronavirus testing and resources.

Rock and Perez, who are both from Brooklyn, urged residents to wear a mask, saying it isn't just about protection, but also respect for others.

"Spread love the Brooklyn way, get tested, wear a mask," Perez said. "Our governor is a rock star and he makes me proud to be from New York," she added.

Rock said he was tested for the coronavirus earlier and joked that he had "just passed" the test with a score of 65.

He called on residents to "posse up" and get tested. "Everybody that can get tested should get tested as soon as possible," he said.

The two will also be part of a statewide PSA campaign that supports Gov. Cuomo's executive order that would authorize businesses in New York to deny entry to people not wearing a face covering or mask.
