The state's "Back To Work" initiative includes free online job training, job postings and a virtual job fair, Lamont said during his daily briefing Thursday.

The state has partnered with Indeed, a job listings search engine, to create a "custom portal" for job seekers in Connecticut and help people set up "real-time video interviews," he said.

"We want people to be able to get back to work," he said. "Sign up. Take advantage of this."

More than 10,000 people have already signed up for the the state's free online job training, he said.

Lamont on Thursday reported 26 new COVID-19 deaths and 114 new cases, bringing the total number of positive cases in the state to 44,461 and the statewide death toll to 4,146.

As of Thursday, 246 people in the state were hospitalized with COVID-19, down by 24 from Wednesday.

The governor advised residents to keep wearing masks, adding that they should "stay disciplined" to avoid a resurgence in the numbers.

"Everybody says, you know, you're not as clear as you could be," he said. "Well, we have an answer here for you: if you have to ask, wear the mask."
