Cops: Man stabs subway rider in head with screwdriver in broad daylight

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A sleeping straphanger was viciously attacked in broad daylight by a man with a screwdriver, police say.

The 29-year-old victim was sleeping on a northbound 2 line train near the Beverly Road subway station in East Flatbush when a man stabbed him in the head with a screwdriver, police say.


The attacker also stabbed him in the arm with the screwdriver before stealing $300 in cash from him and fleeing the scene, according to police.

The victim was taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition.

Video of the suspect was released by police Sunday. He's described as a man in his early 30s.
