A total of 23,921 Connecticut residents have now tested positive for COVID-19, and 1,764 have died, Lamont said.

As of Friday, 1,877 residents were hospitalized, down by 70 people from Thursday, according to Lamont.

"This is the biggest drop in hospitalizations that we've seen, and you know how important an indicator that is," he said.
