HARTFORD, C.T. (1010 WINS) -- Gov. Ned Lamont on Tuesday reported 33 new COVID-19 deaths and 568 new cases, sending the total number of positive cases in the state past 34,000.

A total of 34,333 Connecticut residents have now tested positive for the virus, and 3,041 have died, Lamont said.

Hospitalizations decreased by 23 between Monday and Tuesday — to 3,041, Lamont, added, noting that the curve is trending down.

Connecticut tested an additional 5,916 people between Monday and Tuesday, he said.
