NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – New York City's coronavirus death toll neared 20,000 on Sunday as the city recorded dozens more deaths and over 1,200 more cases.

Data from the health department shows there were 14,753 confirmed deaths and 5,178 "probable deaths" as of Sunday, bringing the combined death toll 19,931.
That's 136 more combined deaths since Saturday, when 19,795 deaths were reported, including 14,482 confirmed deaths and 5,313 probable deaths. On Friday there were 19,702 total deaths reported, including 14,389 confirmed deaths and 5,313 probable deaths.
A total of 178,766 cases have been recorded in the city as of Sunday. That's up 1,285 from the 177,481 cases reported Saturday. On Friday, 176,086 cases were reported.
There have been 44,812 total hospitalizations in the city since the outbreak began. On Saturday, that number was 44,256, an increase of 556 hospitalizations.

- The Bronx: 40,689
- Brooklyn: 47,836
- Manhattan: 22,185
- Queens: 55,380
- Staten Island: 12,586
- Unknown: 90
