At his daily briefing Monday afternoon, Westchester County Executive Latimer said Playland Beach and Croton Point Park Beach would both be open over Memorial Day weekend, including Friday and Monday.
“Whether we keep (them) open beyond Memorial Day weekend will depend on how well we manage the demand this week,” he said.
Playland Amusement Park, on the other hand, will not reopen until at least July 20, Latimer said.
“We’re not going to be able to open Playland Amusement Park, because it’s just very, very difficult to imagine how we would enforce social distancing, how we would sanitize every ride between every usage,” he explained.
Westchester County is currently tracking fewer than 2,500 active COVID-19 cases, he said.
