NEWARK, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- Presidential hopeful Cory Booker has now passed the threshold for qualifying for the December debate.

Booker has met the minimum amount of donors required by the DNC to qualify to participate in the next debate.

According to a release, Booker raised over half a million dollars in nine hours following his closing statements at Wednesday night's debate with his campaign reaching over 200,00 unique donors.

“Last night on the debate stage, Cory Booker set himself apart from other Democrats in the field by showing how his lived experiences make him the best candidate to unite the party and beat Donald Trump,” said Cory 2020 Campaign Manager Addisu Demissie. “Cory’s message clearly struck a chord with Democratic voters who want to make sure his voice is a part of the next debate.”

Over 70 percent of the Cory 2020 donors who donated Wednesday were first time donors to the campaign Demissie added.
