NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Another bicyclist has died on city streets this year, this time in a multi-car, chain-reaction crash that also injured a pedestrian and driver in Midwood.
A gray Dodge sedan traveling down Coney Island Avenue ran a red light and T-boned a blue Honda SUV Avenue L just before 12:30 p.m. Sunday, police said.
Video from a store obtained by 1010 WINS (above) shows the sedan slamming into the SUV at a high rate of speed.
Both vehicles spun out of control and hit the cyclist and a pedestrian before coming to a crashing halt on a curb, according to police as well as witnesses, who described hearing a loud bang.

The cyclist, a 52-year-old man who suffered head trauma, was pronounced dead at Coney Island Hospital, according to police. He hasn't been identified.
The pedestrian, also a 52-year-old man, as well as a 38-year-old man in the SUV were taken to Maimonides Medical Center in stable condition.
The 18-year-old man behind the wheel of the sedan was taken into custody. Charges against him were pending Sunday.
The cyclist is the 19th to die on city streets this year, according to Daily News reporter Clayton Guse. That's compared to 10 in all of 2018.
