NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A bicyclist ranting about China reportedly spat and threw his bike during an anti-Asian attack on a man and woman in Manhattan this week.
Police released video of the bike-riding suspect late Thursday. The NYPD believes he's in his 30s.
The 29-year-old man and 28-year-old woman were at E. 19th Street and Broadway in the Flatiron District around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday when the man came up to them and went on a tirade about China, police sources told the New York Post.
“You are Chinese, God hates China, China has virus,” the man reportedly said.
He then spat at the duo before throwing his bike at the man, according to the sources.
The man had bruising and scratches after the bike was thrown at him.
The suspect took off after the attack; no arrests have been reported.
