NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Mayor Bill de Blasio's affinity for working out at his beloved Prospect Park YMCA in Brooklyn is well-known to New Yorkers, so it comes as no surprise that he's missing his sweat sessions.
"Let me tell you, I think there's a lot of us who are missing our exercise," de Blasio told 1010 WINS' Brigitte Quinn Tuesday. "I'd like to – I'd like it to be like it normally was, but for now, I'm doing like so many other people are: when I can get a walk in, I get a walk in, or do some exercise at home."
But the athletically-inclined mayor admits, though, that nothing beats a hardcore workout: "But it's not the same as being able to get a full workout. But look, the weather's been beautiful the last few days. I mean even getting outside, spending some time – Chirlane and I like to go for walks together."
Looking head, he said, "And this too shall pass. This won't go on too much longer, I really believe that. And the day's going to come when we can all get back to enjoying what's great about this place."
