NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Cops say they have a person of interest in custody in a deadly shooting at a Queens 7 train stop.
The man was shot on a platform at the 90th St.-Elmhurst Avenue station in Jackson Heights on Sunday afternoon.
Police responded to a call of shots fired just before 1 p.m.
Officers arrived and found the man shot in the head on the platform.
Police say the shooting started as an argument on a train and ended on the southbound platform, where the victim was shot.
Two men fled the scene after the shooting, according to police.
The investigation disrupted service on the 7 line, with trains bypassing 90th Street in both directions.
Disturbing video posted to social media shows a scuffle before shots ring out and straphangers scramble on the platform.
Transit Chief Edward Delatorre says police have ruled out robbery as a motive.
"It appears to just be a dispute or an altercation. We don't know why it took place," he said.
Sources later told NY1 that the incident may have been gang related. The victim was allegedly a member of the 18th Street gang, which has a growing presence in Queens. The gunman is believed to be a member of MS-13.
