NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped about 801 points Wednesday, making it the worst trading day of the year.

The drop comes after big losses in Europe after German’s economy shrank in the second quarter and as the U.S. bond market flashed a warning about a possible recession -- the first warning since 2007.

The Dow's drop translates into a 3% drop.

The S&P 500 fell 2.9% and Nasdaq Composite declined 3%.
