NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 19-year-old driver was arrested and charged with driving while on drugs after he hit and killed a 4-year-old girl outside her Long Island home on Tuesday, police said.

Christian Yanes, 19, was driving a Honda Civic north on Fulton Street, near Nostrand Avenue, in Brentwood around 6:50 p.m. on Tuesday when he hit 4-year-old Roussy Cabrera Fuentes, who was in the road in front of her home, Suffolk County police said.
The girl was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to police.
Yanes, who lives in Brentwood, was arrested and charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, police said.
He was expected to appear in court on Wednesday. His attorney information wasn't immediately available.
